House Ear Institute and The Redding Brothers
A Rock Band and hearing conservation, you heard correctly! The Redding Brothers have teamed up with "House Ear Institute" to work with college and high school students in promoting hearing conservation. This campaign intends to show today's youth that you can listen to the music you want and not damage your hearing. Between loud concerts and ever-present iPod earbuds, this is a growing concern. HEI wants to educate this generation in ways that will help them hear and be able to listen to their music for years to come.
The Redding Brothers, together with Delta Zeta chapters at various universities, will provide handouts that explain hearing loss and the associated decibel levels and duration periods that put one at risk. This is all about knowledge and how to listen correctly.
The Redding Brothers have a unique performance style, playing dynamic Surround Sound concerts live. Having speakers placed throughout the venue allows for a more even distribution of sound, and makes the apparent volume the same, while actually reducing levels. This makes The Redding Brothers a prime example of how people today can listen to great live music and not damage their hearing.
Be sure to check out The Redding Brothers live in concert and also visit the House Ear Institute and other related websites at - http://www.hei.org and http://www.earbud.org . You can hear The Redding Brothers music in both locations.
