2010 WV State Fair

This Tuesday, we will be joining the WV State Fair to deliver some toasty melty musical goodness. Our set will include three new songs, and some songs we haven't done in over a year and a half. For more details, click here, or send us an email.

Charleston WV concert this Friday!

It's less than a week away!

On Friday, May 14th, we'll be back in Charleston WV, in a massive show. Six different amazing performers, including Jody Haught of America's Got Talent. But here's the important part:

For over two years now, we've been working on a new album. It's been a secret project, our attempt to do something entirely different. We've consulted with authors, philosophers, musicians, videographers, and hobos; we've gone on crazy excursions, and we've ransacked our minds to create what we've been so ambitiously trying to create.

This weekend, we'll be previewing songs from the new album. And for those who get tickets NOW, we'll be sending you some of the preview tracks, so you can listen to them ahead of time, and sing along with us when we take the stage.

Tickets are only $10.

Nashville Walk 4 Water this Saturday

This Saturday, we are participating in Nashville's annual Walk 4 Water for the second year. The event focuses on walking 4 miles - the distance many people have to walk every day just to get the water they need. And the result is that wells are built all over the world.

This year, the event is focused on helping out Haiti.

If you would like to participate, please sign up to walk at http://walk4water.org

After the walk, we will be performing. Hope to see you there.

What We've Been Doing

The irony of this post is that I'm not really going to tell you what we've been doing. I mean, I'm going to tell you some stuff we've been doing, but I'm not really going to be able to explain why we've been so adamantly quiet (except for facebook and twitter), and so secretive about things lately.

We've still been doing plenty. In 2009, we worked with Walk4Water in Nashville and Tacoma, we did radio interviews, we toured, we made connections with some of today's greatest thinkers and writers, Gabe biked across the USA, we prepped for some mountain climbing, I resolved to do nothing I was not in love with, we went to Houston and Seattle and Denver and Savannah and New York, started a t-shirt company, and made a set of resolutions that inspired a couple hundred people to do things they'd never done before.

And along the way, I've been developing a philosophy of art and music - a philosophy that suggests everything needs to be purified, that every piece of art you create should come from somewhere deep and personal, without pretense or falsity. And maybe that's a little too heavy for a rock band to think about. But I want you to know that everything I create is something real, something written with you in mind because it is something real.

So that's the reason for the quietness. Not the lack of activity or interest or inspiration. But the intensity of it is getting stronger. And so something is coming.
