Song Of The Week #3 - Bonny Lass

We'll have to apologize for this one in advance.

From time to time, when the grass is e'er the greener, the birds are twitterin' in the dale, and the songbird sings a lullaby tune come the eve, we start "longing for the mother country" back in the Ire.

Actually, we've never been to the Ire, and we're actually more German and Scottish than anything, but we like to entertain ourselves :-).

This song, if you can call it a song, was Gabe's brainchild, and we scarcely let him post it. But without further ado, here is Gabe's original, "Bonny Lass (O'er the Dale)":

---

LYRICS:
(Verse 1)
Never a care and never a sorrow,
little lass here in the dale.
You will walk on the path down to the riverside,
every person will stare.

And if a wand'rer should try and harm thee
LIttle lass I will appear.
Should he be vile and make 'vance upon thee
Little lass I will be there.

(Chorus)
If you would like to be my bonny lass,
I will take care of you all of my life.

(Verse 2)
Picking the wild flow'rs grown in the valley,
brilliant sun in your hair.
And a song on her voice, sung with the bagpipes,
Wondrous sounds in the air.

And if a wand'rer should try and harm thee
LIttle lass I will appear.
Should he be vile and make 'vance upon thee
Little lass I will be there.

(Chorus)
